"The object of the Monitor is to injure no man, but to bless all mankind."Mary Baker Eddy

Travel the world The Christian Science Monitor is an international newspaper founded in 1908 by Mary Baker Eddy. In her time, Mary Baker Eddy was a citizen of the world. Throughout her long life, she maintained a lively interest in international events and trends in public thought. Her observation over several years convinced her that the newspapers and magazines of her day presented biased and unfair descriptions of daily events. Also, it was her desire that Christian Scientists should be knowledgeable, not only about local events and trends, but about international events and trends as well. Her adherents were to be knowledgeable about world events so that they could apply their healing prayers to situations needing correction. Mrs. Eddy wrote, "The object of the Monitor is to injure no man, but to bless all mankind." Learn more about The Christian Science Monitor.
